Hey! I’m so excited that you found me. Peaches and greetings from the uniquely, unpredictable area of Central GA. My name is Ronda Shirley. I am a psychotherapist who is licensed in marriage and family therapy. I know. There are a GANG of us out here, huh? There are therapists, counselors, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, life coaches, consultants and the lists of titles go on and on and on and on. This leads us to the $10M question. “Why should YOU choose me?”
I’ll tell you more about my bells and whistles later on, but let’s get to the important points first. What can I do to help you? GREAT question. Well, let’s see. My speciality is women who have experienced trauma. You may be thinking “Well that’s not me. I haven’t been in the military. I don’t have PTSD.” Great point, but I gently ask you to consider this. “Trauma” is defined simply as: “a deeply distressing or disturbing experience”. Take a breath. As you exhale, think about this question. Have you ever had an experience that was either disturbing or deeply distressful? These experiences create feelings of anxiety, depression, anger, sadness, sexual dysfunction, substance abuse and have us moving towards and staying in dysfunctional relationships. These experiences create kinks in our relationships with our children, with our jobs, family members and significant others.
I would imagine that you are saying. “Alright, you’ve told me WHO you help, now tell me HOW you help.” Better question! I use multiple techniques that help. I am an eclectic, integrative psychotherapist. I must inform you on the front end. I am not a parrot. I don’t limit my responses to nods and repetitions of what you have said. No, on the contrary, I am a very engaging and collaborative therapist. You will get questions, responses and, sometimes, challenges from me.
We are not simply flesh and bones. We are spirit beings. As a Christian woman, I do utilize my beliefs in architecting sessions. It’s cool. I’m not the Bible thumping “You are going to burn, if you don’t get your life in order!” Christian. Nope. I operate less from the scope of doctrine and law. My focus is on being spiritually anchored to avoid you leaning exclusively on your own knowledge and strength. My beliefs are focused on love while affording the forgiveness to others that have been delivered to us. I believe that we should engage in treating others as we desire to be treated with love, patience and compassion.
Good stuff, right, but you want to know more about me? No prob. I spent close to 20 years in corporate. I have held multiple positions with a substantial portion of my time being held in managerial roles. I have learned how to navigate the pitfalls of office politics, build high functioning teams and developed many into management positions while developing key skills that assist in creating work-life balance. I have taught business courses at one of the local community college. I have a Masters of Business Administration and a Masters in Family Therapy. I am the proud mom of 2 and the blushing bride of 1 that I have had the great fortune of enjoying 19 years of marriage.
I believe that we can do great things together. Call the number. Make an appointment. Let’s journey together to your best life.
